Berkeley Driving School

We provide a TEEN ONLINE DRIVERS ED CLASS for $55.00 (link below in Drivers Ed section). And, we will be having a 2010 April Spring Break Driver Education class in Oakland - See Below. We also service Berkeley, San Leandro, Oakland, Alameda, Piedmont, El Cerrito, Richmond, Kensington, Emeryville, Albany, San Pablo, Rodeo, Crockett, Pinole, and El Sobrante for Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training Appointments for $57.50 per hour. Please read the Driver Training section below for details. Our telephone number is 510.530.1938 and our office is located at 4154 Macarthur Blvd in Oakland. All calls are returned Monday thru Friday up till 400pm. If you plan to visit the office, an appointment is required. However, all services are handled over the phone.

All Instructors and trainers are licensed by the Department of Motor Vehicles of California, with an average of 6 years experience, you can meet them by clicking here. Visit our DMV PROCEDURES link to view all stages for your teen to obtain their Drivers Permit and License. Our DMV License # is 4060. We also offer DMV Road Test Assistance for $57.50 an hour - where we can meet you at your home before the DMV road test, you can then use our car to take the test and then return you home. A $35 deposit required for this service.

There are many in California. They are difficult to deal with. Go with a local school that you know. Our in car driving lessons are guaranteed to be private. Phone lines can be busy. All messages are a priority and all calls are returned weekdays up till 4pm. Simply press # to leave a voicemail. You will always be speaking directly to the owner - never various office workers that can lead to confusion. We are also a BBB Member, meaning funds and services are handled with integrity. For Adult Driver Training, you may decide on how many lessons you will prefer. The instructor can give you an objective opinion while in the car with you on how many you may need. You must make a $35 deposit to reserve the first appointment. It is common that auto insurance companies will give a discount on your insurance rate if you have completed a 6 hour driver training course- 6 Hour DMV certificate issued in the car when 6 hours are completed.

For Adults Outside Our Main Coverage Area. If you are an adult only with a valid California permit living in: Hayward, Castro Valley, Union City, Fremont, Newark, Pleasenton, Concord, Walnut Creek, Pleasent Hill, Martinez, Vallejo, Benicia - and you need in car driving lessons or road test assistance, contact our Instructor Eric Esparza/Independent Contractor at 510.432.8873 or esparzaeric@hotmail.com. Cancellations must be made 48 hours or before your scheduled lesson. The late cancellation fee is $35. This will also apply if the student does not have their valid original permit in hand at the time of the lesson.

Teen freeway lessons are only conducted with parental consent and only when the instructor has determined that it is safe to do so. If you need practice in specific areas of driving ~ please mention it when you make an appointment so we can inform the instructor. We are no longer conducting lessons
in the higher Berkeley or Oakland Hills. We can meet you on lower ground. Usual lower ground meeting places are: Starbucks on Solano, Whole Foods, Claremont Hotel.

IMPORTANT! Please read the DMV PROCEDURES link on our site for details on what do do after the Teen Online/Or Oakland Driver Education Class. You will indeed need the 2nd DMV Certificate of Enrollment into Driver Training OL392 for the teen to obtain their permit at the DMV. The Certificate of Completion of the online teen Driver education class is mailed out the SAME business day once they have completed the 22 Chapters.
